Tereshchenkivska 13

   Income house, architectural monument Tereshchenkivska Street, 13 - "Sadiba Khanenkiv" on Tereshchenkivska Street is one of the most prominent buildings in Kyiv. It has an unusual "well" design and is visible from afar, thanks to its large dimensions and beautiful design.
   At the moment, the building is an architectural monument. It has the style of modernism and neoclassicism. The main facade is straight, gray, in the form of a square with a small attic on the roof in the center.
   The architectural complex consists of an income house (No. 13), a mansion (No. 15) and a courtyard outbuilding (No. 15a) on Tereshchenkivska Street. In 1882, he bought plot No. 15, which was not yet built, from Mykola Tereshchenko from O. Sulimovska. In 1887-1888, a mansion was built by order of Tereshchenko, in 1887-1891 a two-story outbuilding (No. 15a) and one-story stone service buildings — a stable, a carriage house, and a glacier (not preserved). In 1888, the estate was sold to the family of Tereshchenko's eldest daughter, Varvara Khanenko. Plot No. 13 with a three-story house was also bought by M. A. Tereshchenko in 1888, and in 1903, the plot passed to Tereshchenko's daughter Olga by will. In 1913, the plot was bought by Bohdan Khanenko, who gave it to his wife Varvara. In 1913-1914, instead of a three-story building, a six-story building was built (the details are taken from Wikipedia).
   The house is located near the park named after Taras Shevchenko and opposite KNU. Nearby is Taras Shevchenko Boulevard and Lev Tolstoy Street. The nearest metro stations are "Lev Tolstoy Square", "University" and "Teatralna".
